WordPress Blogs excluded from Adsense in RSS Feed Beta
Those of you who use WordPress to run your blog (like me) and who are waiting to be accepted into the Adsense for RSS feeds program might have a bit of a wait. The word is that at this stage they are only accepting Blogger and MoveableType/TypePad blogs according to Matt from WordPress.

It’s nice to know that *somebody* looks favorably on Blogger. Imagine, the cobbler’s children actually getting shoes. Unfortunately, us smaller fish (under 100 subscribers, however that’s calculated) will still have to wait for our shoes.

Is this confirmed, or conjecture? Wordpress was banned from google a while back for those articles that were posted. Is this related to that? Is it just worpress.org itself that is not going to be let in, or all wordpress users? If so, is it still related? I dont’ use wordpress (don’t care much for it), instead I use nuclues. Does it apply to all non blogger/MT users? Just curious as I haven’t seen any official word yet and the source has history with google.

I believe it’s simply because they only have the Blogger and MT code set up currently. I was approved for the beta testing and I’m on MT and above the minimum subscribers. To my mind, it’ll be just as much about testing from my end as from Google’s end. I’m unsure if it’s going to work or not.
Anyway, perhaps someone from the Wordpress community can contact Google and offer to set up the templates?? There may be other factors as well (eg maybe MT has set up a business agmt with Google to be one of the beta testing platforms?? this is all conjecture).
