First you must export the data from your TP account (go the the admin folder in your Main Index and it'll let you export) then go to http://yoursite.com/wp-admin/import-mt.php and it'll let you pull in the content. If that could be easily done to a new WordPress-based site from a Typepad site I would be more inclined to make the move sooner rather than later.
