If a newsletter has more then 5-6 stories, I probably won't read it, but if it only has 1-2 and it looks like the writer hardly put any work into it, I won't read it either. As a reader, I'm usually looking for a combination of resource style stories, as well as something more entertaining, like a link to an interview or a review of a book or film I'm interested in.
