I have another biz blog:

Average pageview: 3000 daily
Average earning: $3 daily

Rather consistent based on law of averages.

Not worth the effort.

I'm new to this and could use some advice on earning more money from Blogging. I have 3 blogs on blogspot and have only earned $5.00 from adsense since I started last month. Does anyone know the rules about adding a paypal option to blogs if you don't own the domain? As you can see, I'm pretty dense when it comes to this computer stuff. However I love to blog and have a few more ideas to start more blogs. I could use any help offered.

6 figures? Shit-that's what I'm after!

Like most bloggers I both don't like inaccurate information and try to provide more accurate ones.
This is what I did here and it wasn't an attack (in fact it's Alister that I did counter attack).
I did my job of <i>good reader</i> - and all the good that Darren did shouldn't prevent me from doing so (like it does for Alister).

Yes I can redistribute the % for "<i>I do not use Adsense</i>" equally to the others.
But I can't redistribute the % for "<i>I do not wish to disclose</i>" because we can't guess how much earned the voters who didn't want to disclose.

And yes 1% matters.

As the statistician Darren consulted when doing this poll, I hope I can further clarify the situation.

For a start, since Darren consulted me on the poll shows that he is concerned about doing a good job with his site. The disclaimer he put up as a result of my feedback acknowledges that internet polls have their limitations.

we want to know what percentage of voters earned a particular amount. With these 2 possible answers in addition, the % for a specific amount doesn’t correspond to the % of voters earning it, but to the % of voters having voted for that amount.

To answer your question of interest, which I believe is: “Of those who are bloggers earning money from Adsense, the % earning ___ is….”, exclude the last two options from the poll total and recalculate the percentages. Once the poll is complete, Darren may in fact do these calculations for you. No need to stress, your question can still be worked out from this data!

“I’m not promising a scientific result here”
Darren said that not because of the poll itself but because of the number of voters compared to the real number of AdSense users.

Actually, Darren didn’t say the reason for the nonscientific result – but I will: it is nonscientific as the poll is not from randomly sampled people, but a self-selecting sample. It has nothing to do with what you suggested, namely the sample size in relation to the population size. Otherwise, all political polls would be deemed nonscientific :)

“what bloggers earn from Adsense”
The results fail to say that.

This can be calculated from the data in Darren’s poll (within the limitations of a non-random sample).

Yes the results “give an idea” but they are false (and the idea might be too) because of the 2 irrelevant possible answers.

I must disagree.

Bobby - thanks for your observations. But if the results of this poll bother you can I encourgage you to either:

1. Ignore them
2. Make a few adjustments to them. I think you could actually get the results/figures you're after by recalculating the results without the last two questions taken into account.

Bobby you're behaving like a 2 year old. Your retorts make me laugh.

All I'm suggesting is that you relax a little. The results are very interesting to me - sure they may not be exact, there may have been a different way of asking the questions that might have suited you better - but the way you're attacking them isn't very gracious to Darren.

I like the questions because they are not just asking a question of those who DO use Adsense, but of bloggers in general. From them we can see that 14% (so far) of bloggers who read Darren's blog don't use Adsense - I think thats interesting.

I also find it fascinating that 42% are earning less than a dollar a day and that 50% are learning less than $100 a month ($3 per day). That is very interesting and a good thing for people to know about.

Bobby - I'd suggest that if you want exact results you do your own survey and stop attacking Darren's attempt to shed some light on Adsense. Darren has inspired hundreds of bloggers around the world and is teaching us how to make money from our blogs (including you it seems). He's been kind enough to mention you and link to you in his posts - perhaps you could find something positive to say instead of attacking his work.

I think you are the one Alister. Didn’t you understand what I said ?

“I’m not promising a scientific result here”
Darren said that not because of the poll itself but because of the number of voters compared to the real number of AdSense users.
“what bloggers earn from Adsense”
The results fail to say that.
“Ihey are just an initial indication of what people earn”
Nope.
“before he does a proper survey”
LOL, a non proper survey before a proper one ?
How smart, where did you get that.
A second poll wasn’t planed but might occur with what I pointed to.
“look at what the poll IS saying”
Saying false.
“Who cares if the %’s are not exact”
Me and obviously not you.
You just want results while I want true results – there’s a big difference.
“Stop nit picking”
Start nit picking.
“the poll actually says quite a lot!”
A lot of false results.
Yes the results “give an idea” but they are false (and the idea might be too) because of the 2 irrelevant possible answers.

‘I’m not promising a scientific result here – but rather hope that this poll will give us all a little bit more of an idea about what bloggers earn from Adsense. I have my suspicions about what it will find but will let the results speak for themselves as bloggers share what they earn.’

He’s not promising scientific results – they are just an initial indication of what people earn before he does a proper survey. Stop nit picking and look at what the poll IS saying. Who cares if the %’s are not exact – the poll actually says quite a lot!

I'm looking at the poll again :
It asks bloggers to tell how much they earned last month with AdSense.
But 2 of the possible answers are "I do not use Adsense" and "I do not wish to disclose".
These 2 answers are incompatible with the question because we want to know what percentage of voters earned a particular amount.
With these 2 possible answers in addition, the % for a specific amount doesn't correspond to the % of voters earning it, but to the % of voters having voted for that amount.
It is different because of those 2 questions.
The same poll without them would have shown different results.
