Right said ppc certainly increases the conversion rates if the ads format is appealing and relevant to the pages.

Many people waste huge amounts of money on PPC with poor results. Thats why Google charges less money to good adds and charges more money to the bad ones. I remembered my first campaign a few years ago, I had the idea of just bidding high and my add didnt show up in the first places.
