AppLoop – Make Your Blog into an iPhone App

Posted By Darren Rowse 21st of October 2008 Blogging Tools and Services 20

AppLoop is a great little tool that is currently in beta that will take any RSS feed and turn it into an iPhone Application.

iPhone Application Generator Demo from AppLoop on Vimeo.

All you need to do to set it up is to add your feed, a logo and name of your blog, provide a valid email address – select how much you want to charge for it (if anything) and submit it to Apple’s App Store to await its approval. It all is very automated and simple.

They give you stats to see what content people are viewing using the application. The application allows people to view your post, save it for later and share it with friends.

The video above sheds light on new features that’ll be added. The beta test is closed at the moment but you can submit your blog’s details and an email to be included in future intakes.

  1. Great find and thanks for sharing it with us. It seems like no brainier for a greater reach of your blog.

  2. There should be an application like this for all smartphones – not just iPhone. Putting blog on iPhone (or smartphones) is a good idea. In the future, a lot more readers will be accessing the Internet than today. It makes sense to get ready for that from now on.

  3. A Dawn – it looks like they’re doing one for Android as well – hopefully they’ll be able to role it out for other systems too.

  4. That’s wicked. I hope it’s free.

  5. Not for me. “Charges”. Why I’ll have to pay for promoting my blog? Please give some “free” sites. :(

  6. wow, that is so cool…

  7. thanks lot darren . It seems very good

  8. Hey Darren,

Are you going to be submitting your site to this app? Would love an iPhone App with your feed!

  9. That is awesome. One of the many “why didn’t I think of that?” app ideas.

  10. It’s really cool! Too bad I’m not head-over heels with the iPhone (can’t afford one).

    Thats an AWSOME site.
    Thanks for sharing Darren!

That can come in handy for any Blogger!
I hope you submit your blogs to it.

  12. Wow. That is amazing! But I think it would be better if they created an rss reader with features like commenting, rating, etc.

  13. Seems to just reproduce what the iphone plug-in already does on wordpress…. no need for an app, just go to the url. Click on my web site in your iphone and you’ll see what I mean.

nice try, but not impressed yet. I’m sure future versions will do more.

  14. This will be an amazing resource! I will put this into use as soon as I get an invite.

@Saurabh I don’t think that you have to charge, but you can if you want to.

@Daniel Kemp yep it’s free alright. All you need is an invitation.

  15. It still not open to public yet , but it cool apps :)

  16. That is a very coop application. Although I do not think I would charge for my readers to access my feed. Actually I would, but I doubt anyone would pay for it. LOL

  17. You have introduced a very neat tool here. I tried to sign up by submitting blog details and an email but nothing happens. Either the submit button does not seem to be working on that site OR the website is not registering any forms. That is a little suspect.

Still, I think that it may be a useful tool for bloggers and readers of blogs who may be on the go more than in front of a laptop computer or desktop computer. There are so many men and women who are on their phones more throughout the day that it would probably make more sense to have the option of also getting content from their favorite blogs that way as well.

  18. I’ve been looking for something similar to this, thanks!

  19. This is cool! I’m bookmarking this to look into later this evening.

  20. iphone is really great and the new iphone3gs will be the world most advance phone , i am just waiting for it , my iphone 3gs super speed
