An Unexpected Piece of Advice that Will Help You Grow Your Blog

Today’s challenge in our 31 days to build a better blog podcast series is a bit different, and hopefully – a lot of fun. It’s to not blog at all!

Today I want you to leave your electronics behind and go to your local mall or shopping centre. Why? Because it will put you out in the real world where real experiences will help give you real content. It will also ensure you brush your hair for the day!

In this episode I’ll go into detail about what happens when I do this, and why I now recommend it to everyone. I also outline the things I’ve learned and how it’s had an impact on the way I blog now.

I also tell you how to get the most out of your visit so it doesn’t just feel like a day wasted in a consumerist vacuum.

Listen to this challenge here or find it on iTunes and Stitcher (just look for episode 13).

Enjoy!

  1. And the advice might be to create “lots and lots of content,” so you can grow your blog from few visitors into a search engine and social networking traffic powerhouse.

  2. You are right, real content lies outside with real people, their experiences, our experiences with them and whole lot of interesting stuff, went unnoticed so far. Even better, go out for a short or a long vacation by road, the experiences gathered there, people you will meet, will make for enough content for few months at-least.

  3. That’s right. Content, A real content is what we needed to get more readers list to a website. And that’s what we expect form a blog. Written with real time experience leads you to good story to read.

  4. Cliché, but yes, content is king. However, publishing a post everyday may not be possible for those of us who are not full time bloggers. I publish every 4/5 days, I hope that’s good enough. .

    • I thinks twice a week post , is surely a good idea, as posting one a week will be very less, you can post smaller article but from my point you should try at least this.

Any other openion on this ?

  5. People usually think that by sitting in the office all along will make them achieve more than other. The fact is that when you don’t give yourself a break, you won’t even go far. When you give your mind and body a break, you will have great ideas to share with your readers and this will boost your engagement! I am happy that you also share my sentiments on how to get more from your mind.

  6. Good advice. Not sure where you are going with the hair comment, especially looking at you pic :).

  7. Great article, Thanks for putting blog tips into a perspective most can understand.

  8. That very true that real content can only spice up the whole story of blogging as it can ensure true visitor coming down your way , something interesting will only insure that you are in demand, Create demand by content other wise you can not be in someones content. Awesome IDEA.
