Lately I’ve been sharing more links to the things I’m reading via my Twitter account than here on the blog – however today I thought I’d do a ‘speedlinking’ post for old times sake. Here’s 10 links I came across in my RSS reader today:

As always thanks for the great content. I found the Top Ten Myths about Google Analytics to be the most interesting because I think people in general always have a specific idea about certain services, which turns out to be incorrect.

I’ve been reading quite a lot today, first weekend worth of rss feeds as I wasn’t online for couple of days. Took the time to browse through some e-books too, and read my own posts before putting them out…
I’ve found that writing posts first, and reading them on another day before publishing improves the posts and makes it easier to spot the inconsistencies and errors if there is some.
p.s. thanks for the “timesaving plugins” -list, taking at least a couple for test run from there.
Thanks for the links. The first link was what i have been thinking lately. For example – Fashion of blogging about the economic recession.
The current economic trends have really captured the mind share of bloggers worldwide.

Thanks very much for these..!
I particularly like the 10 plugins that will save me time – there are some superb ones in there!
And within that, the ‘Post Ideas’ plugin covers something I’ve been doing manually for ages using the ‘write it in Word, copy to Notepad and copy again to WP’ routine.
Trouble with that approach (apart from the obvious) is that I have to delete and re-enter all the apostrophes and dashes once I finally get it into WP because for some reason even copying the original Word doc to Notepad and then again to WP still leaves those two as characters that RSS feeds can’t decipher.
Therefore it inserts them as question marks in feeds.
It was extremely frustrating until I discovered that – which I did purely by accident :)
So this is going to save me minutes of time on each post – wonderful!

I’m wondering if you’ve come across anything in your travels that would make generating this kind of post easier.
I’ve been using the great Twitter Tools by Alex King and it’s been culling my daily tweets (not anymore) and my weekly tweets (right now).
Since so much of my Twittering is sharing links, it’s OK to have a post that drops them all into one big post.
On the other hand, making the massive tweet collection into a beautiful, easily read and appreciated post like this one is a bit tough — requiring edits every single time.
Do you have any ideas? Or do you have a better way to export your Shared Items from Google Reader into a post that you can add your writing and comments to?
Gib – I’m sure there could be some ways of hacking these types of posts – pulling in your Twitter feed, or bookmarking links on Delicious and pulling that feed in… but I’ve never tried to automate it yet in any way.
Thanks for the list of links, I will have to check them out in the next couple of days, too much on my plate to dive into them today. I don’t have any to refer as of now, I don’t have a lot of free time on my hands to do the things I enjoy. :) I will stop back when I have a couple recommendations about reading material.

One word of warning about one of the plugins in the 10 WordPress Plugins Guaranteed to Save You Time article. I just downloaded and installed Mass Post Manager because I have a huge chunk of unapproved spam comments that I wanted to get rid of. I tried it on one of my categories – to delete any comments that are in a state of Not Approved.
I’m not sure if this is a Thesis theme / WordPress 2.7.1 issue, but when I did this, now all of the posts in that category show they have 0 comments. The comments are still there when you go into individual posts. Check out http://kikolani.com/category/dreams and then select the first post to see what I mean. I’m just glad I didn’t do it on one of my main, larger categories.
