$1800 Prize Pool for Next Week’s Writing Project

Posted By Darren Rowse 15th of September 2006 ProBlogger Site News 0 Comments

This time last week I called for prizes for next week’s ProBlogger Group Writing Project. I was expecting a similar response to last time but was inundated with offers (over 35 now). Some of them were a touch strange (you’re a quirky lot) and some were quite amazing.

I’ve chosen 5 and let everyone know if they were successful or not – but wanted to build a little anticipation for the project by saying that the prize pool for the five prizes up for grabs in the next round is worth over $1800 (USD).

I’ve also selected a topic which will, like last time when we did ‘lists’, be one that can be suited to virtually any subject of blog.

Log into ProBlogger on Monday (probably in the afternoon Melbourne time) for full details of prizes, topic and how to participate.

  1. Sounds great Darren :-) I am really looking forward to this group writing project.

  2. That is great news about the prizes…however just the idea of a contest itself should inspire me to write more and better content

  3. Wow, that’s amazing Darren! I’m looking forward to the next contest.

  4. $1800 Prize Pool for Next Week’s Writing Project…

Write something awesome, people read it, and you make some mad friggin’ coin. Just by blogging. And this time, it’s for real….

  5. WOOHOO!! I really did enjoy the last writing project. I can’t wait for this one.

  6. Wow, Darren – that’s amazing!

I’m certainly excited to see what the project is – I had so much fun with the list-making one, and found a ton of new favorite blogs to read!

  7. Looking forward to this writing project and hopefully I will participate this time around, as I missed the last writing project.

The response you have received with the prizes only confirms to me that you have built a great following with your blog. Thank you for providing all of the outstanding information that you do, it is much appreciated to a new blogger.

  9. Great Darren! Sometimes I struggle with things to write about, and I love your challenges!

  10. Yay, a competition! :)
    With great prizes! :D
I’m a new blogger, and would love to take part. I’ve read your previous group writing project; this is the first one i’ll take part in, so it’s quite exciting for me!
I had thought that blogging might initially be difficult for me (I’m still finding it tough to make the time, after working in a corporate job for abt 10 hrs a day…) but luckily i’m not finding the motivation too difficult.
One thing I’m really curious about is, what were the prizes? We’ll get to know what the final five are, but what about the rest?
Darren, do you think you could mention them? That would also give those who wanted to contribute, some publicity. And I’m sure the list would make for fun reading… i’m intrigued by your “a touch strange” comment :)

  11. […] 1. Take a chance at being one of the 5 randomly selected submissions to win a portion of the $1800 in prizes. […]
